This study extends the existing research on contemplative practices to a new context-affect and learning in foreign language courses. Analysis of the pre-/post-survey data revealed a significant decrease in foreign language anxiety in both groups over the semester but not for affect or self-efficacy. Significantly higher grades were found on course exams for students in the contemplative group. Blaire E Cholewa, Associate Professor of Education, General Faculty, 98,000.00. See the MLA’s 2001 statement Special Considerations for Language and Literature: The AAUP Statement on Distance Education. Analysis of the data showed no significant differences in foreign language anxiety, self-efficacy or affect between the non-contemplative and contemplative groups at post-test but significantly higher scores on classroom climate measures in the contemplative group. Emily Scida Barbara Simerka Carole Slade Cordula van Wyhe Sherry Velasco Marta V. The process must include input from all stakeholders (e.g., administrators, technical support, instructors, students), and administrators must make a long-term commitment to providing the resources to sustain such courses. In the contemplative group, students engaged in brief 10-minute contemplative practices once a week, while the non-contemplative group followed the same syllabus but was not exposed to contemplative practices. Data included pre- and post-test surveys, exam scores to measure learning outcomes, student interviews, and course evaluations. This study presents a detailed comparison of the syntactic environments common to both the imperfect subjunctive and the inflected infinitive, and examines the survival of an inflected infinitive in other Romance varieties as well as the existence of other inflected non-finite forms in these languages.Abstract : This study looked at the impact of the integration of contemplative practices on foreign language anxiety, positive and negative affect, self-efficacy, classroom climate, and language learning in students enrolled in an advanced intermediate Spanish language course in the USA. Read 'The Inflected Infinitive in Romance Languages' by Emily E. While the first section of this book offers a synchronic study of the use of the inflected infinitive, the second section examines the theories previously posited to explain its origin and provides additional evidence from Latin and other Romance languages to support the proposal that the inflected infinitive was a historical development rooted in the Latin imperfect subjunctive. Traditional approaches to the preparation of foreign language. The syntactic analysis offered here differs from traditional descriptions of the inflected infinitive in that it uses a theoretical approach to propose one concise condition which predicts all possible occurrences of the Portuguese inflected infinitive within the framework of relational grammar. This book investigates two prominent issues with regard to the inflected infinitive-the syntactic distribution of the Portuguese inflected infinitive, and its origin and development from Early Romance. After months of hard work, an unbelievable amount of caffeine, and a laundry list of enormous challenges - today I am incredibly proud to announce the release of Ghost 0.3 - Kerouac.
